Dear colleagues,
On June 2, the UC Provost's Office is thrilled to be convening the UC Systemwide Academic Freedom Congress, a one-day virtual summit bringing together experts and thought leaders from across UC and the greater higher education community. I'm writing to encourage you to share the registration information for this free systemwide event with faculty members and staff at your campuses.
The conversations about academic freedom and free speech on campus taking place at our Congress could not be timelier. We are hopeful that this convening will spur important conversations across UC and serve as a useful resource for your staff and faculty members, now and in the future.
The full list of speakers and agenda can be found on our event website. The event is co-sponsored by the UC Academic Senate's Committee on Academic Freedom and the UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement.
Interested UC faculty and staff can quickly and easily sign up to attend the Congress via this registration link.
Thank you so much for your partnership and leadership at this critical time.
Please feel free to send further questions about the Congress to Jennifer Tang, Events Manager at jennifer.tang@ucop.edu.
Best,
Katherine S. Newman
