Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 2024-25 cohort of UCI Faculty Academy for Teaching Excellence (FATE) fellows. FATE is a community of faculty from across campus with a shared desire to promote student success through teaching. Members of FATE will meet regularly to discuss all aspects of the teaching experience, from pedagogical techniques, to course policies, to departmental and universitywide issues. These meetings will provide a forum for rapid dissemination of successful approaches to challenges faced by instructors and students.

Each year, supported by the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation, FATE fellows will lend their expertise to advise campus leadership on a set of targeted projects that advance teaching excellence.

Acceptance into FATE is a lifetime honor bestowed on faculty who have demonstrated the aptitude to develop learning environments that foster student growth. Please visit the FATE website to see the names of those included in the 2024-25 cohort. This webpage also includes a list of the inaugural cohort and final reports from the 2022-23 education-focused projects (instructional models, alternative assessment strategies, and promotion of inclusion and wellbeing).

Please join us in congratulating our colleagues on this recognition.

Sincerely,

Hal Stern
