Dear campus community,
Today a Superior Court judge granted the University of California a temporary restraining order (TRO) which halts the illegal systemwide strike by UAW-represented employees for the next 20 days, beginning immediately.
Here is additional information from the Office of the President:
“Today at 3:30 p.m., Judge Sherman in Orange County granted the University of California’s TRO petition, stopping UAW's strike until a preliminary injunction hearing is held. That hearing has been set for June 27. We are grateful that the strike has been stopped for the end of the academic year, allowing our students to successfully complete their quarter. Thank you for your support during this difficult process and we will send you more information as we receive it.”
The UC Office of the President is sharing information on UC Net. As we learn new information we will share it, and it will be available on the continuity website. For questions, please contact the Continuity Support Committee at continuity@uci.edu.
Thank you for your help in ensuring instructional and research continuity as we finish the spring quarter.
