Nov 1, 2022

Dear campus community,

On or before Tuesday, Nov. 8, you will have the opportunity to cast your ballot in the 2022 General Election. All UCI community members are encouraged to take part in the election and make your voices heard. Voting in Orange County is easy and secure.

In-person voting

If you are not registered to vote, you may register in person and cast your ballot. You must be 18 years old or older, a U.S. citizen, and reside in Orange County to complete the same-day voting process at an Orange County Vote Center. There are 181 Vote Centers in the county, 37 of which opened on Saturday, Oct. 29. Find them at ocvote.gov/votecenter.

In-person voting at UCI from Saturday, Nov. 5 through Election Day:

  • Newkirk Alumni Center (450 Mesa Road, Irvine) – Free parking in Lot 14 in assigned spaces
  • University Hills Community Center (1083 California Avenue, Irvine, at the corner of Gabrielino Drive)

See hours for the UCI Vote Centers below:
Nov. 5-7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Nov. 8, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mail-in or drop box voting

All currently registered Californians received a ballot in the mail. You can vote by returning the ballot in the mail by November 8 or dropping it off at one of 121 ballot drop-off locations.

  • UCI has a ballot drop box (off Pereira Drive near Mesa Court Housing and Parking Lot 5).

For questions, contact the Registrar of Voters at (714) 567-7600 or (888) OCVOTES, email at ocvoter@ocvote.gov, or visit ocvote.gov.

Please take advantage of your right to participate in American democracy. Make sure you are registered to vote, research the candidates and issues, and, most importantly, get out and vote on or before Nov. 8.

Sincerely,
