Jun 2, 2022

Dear colleagues,

On Tuesday, June 7, voters across California will have the opportunity to cast ballots in the 2022 primary election. I encourage you to take part in the election and make your voice heard.

In-person voting

Although the deadline to register online for this election has passed, you may still register in person and cast your ballot.

Early in-person voting begins Saturday, June 4, and continues through Election Day, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live. In-person voting sites can be found on the Secretary of State’s Elections and Voter Information website or the Orange County Registrar of Voters website (for Orange County residents).

UCI will have two places to vote in-person from Saturday, June 4, through Election Day:

  • Newkirk Alumni Center (450 Mesa Road, Irvine) – Free parking in Lot 14 in assigned spaces
  • University Hills Community Center (1083 California Ave., Irvine, at the corner of Gabrielino Drive)

Mail-in or drop box voting

All currently registered Californians received a ballot in the mail. You can vote by returning this ballot by mail or dropping it off at a ballot drop box location.

  • UCI has a ballot drop box (at the corner of Campus Drive and West Peltason Drive, near the old bike repair shop).

Please take advantage of your right to participate in American democracy. Make sure you are registered to vote, research the candidates and issues, and, most important, get out and vote on or before June 7.

Sincerely,Hal SternProvost and Executive Vice ChancellorChancellor’s Professor, Department of Statistics
