Dear colleagues,
On September 14, voters across California will have the opportunity to participate in the California Gubernatorial recall election.
I encourage you all to take part in the upcoming election and make your voice heard. Although the deadline to register online for the September recall election has passed, you may register in person on Election Day.
Californians can vote before Election Day. The early voting period begins this Saturday, September 11, and runs through Election Day on Tuesday, September 14, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live. Early voting and vote-by-mail ballot drop off locations may be found on the Secretary of State’s Elections and Voter Information website or the Orange County Registrar of Voters website, for Orange County residents.
At UCI, there are TWO options to cast your ballot in person starting Saturday, September 11 through Election Day:
- UCI Anteater Community Resource Center (4079 Mesa Rd, Irvine, CA 92617) – Free parking in Lot 5 in assigned spaces
- UCI’s OC ROV Official Ballot Drop Box – located on the corner of Campus Dr. & W. Peltason Dr. near the bike repair shop
Please take advantage of the most powerful tool you have to bring about lasting change—voting is your voice and you are encouraged to use it. Please make sure you are registered to vote, research the candidates and issues and, most importantly, get out and vote on or before September 14th.
Sincerely,
Hal Stern, Ph.D.
