UCI Office of Global Engagement has been hosting a series of webinars this year to address a number of timely international topics. The webinar on November 16 will explore the role of journalism in the world today, and the increase in attacks on journalists and the outlets they represent. Freedom of the press, free speech and journalism in various government models will be discussed with experts on Hong Kong, Lebanon and Russia. The event will be moderated by David Kaye, Clinical Professor of Law who recently completed a six-year appointment as UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression.

The event is intended as a resource for faculty, staff, students and the general public.
