Students and postdocs are invited to participate in a Whiteboard Brainstorm Session at the UCI Brain Launch Event on Thursday, November 21, and win awards. First place award is $250!
Participants will be given a blank whiteboard, a set of markers, and a prop kit to visually describe their brain-related project using drawings and graphic organizers. This unique format is intended to encourage feedback, spark collaborations and facilitate out-of-the-box thinking. Trainees from all disciplines are encouraged to apply!
Faculty are also encouraged to forward this note to their students to suggest their participation. Space is limited, and spots will be given on a first-come first-served basis (after preliminary review for content relevance).
Location: The Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering (directions)
Format: Each presenter will be assigned a blank whiteboard, a set of markers, an eraser and a prop kit including magnetic arrows, emoji faces, etc. The student should be able to visually describe their research or project using drawings, graphic organizers, etc., in under five minutes.
Prize: Presentations will be judged by a panel of faculty and the top three presentations will be awarded!
