Dear colleagues,

Nominations are now being accepted for the Chancellor’s Distinguished Speaker Series for the academic years 2019-20 and 2020-21.

The Chancellor’s Distinguished Speaker Series is intended to support short-term campus visits by distinguished scholars or other influential people from nonacademic professions who will enrich university life through their contact with students, faculty and the local community. The series seeks to include speakers at all stages of their careers and serves to:

  • Raise the visibility and influence of UCI in California and nationwide
  • Enhance the breadth and diversity of intellectual and cultural life on campus
  • Engage the local community around an interesting and relevant topic
  • Show distinguished visitors some of the intellectual life at UCI

Nominees for this series should be people of national and international stature and influence who will bring distinction to the university through their public lectures as well as through papers, seminars and other organized activities for more specialized audiences.
