UCPath = UC Payroll, Academic Personnel, Timekeeping, and Human Resources

Project Status Update

UCPath is the systemwide program to align HR and payroll processes and technology across all campuses, medical centers, and research units. It is the largest administrative project in UC’s history and I am proud to say that our implementation was one of the smoothest transitions to date with minimal payroll problems and quick resolution to most issues. Congratulations!
Thank you to the project steering committee and its project chair, Associate Vice Chancellor Rick Coulon, for their commitment and support throughout the project. In addition, my highest praises to Georgana Simonowitz (interim project director), Bob Moulton and Paul Sheirich (former project directors), the entire project team, and hundreds of valuable employees and enterprise partners who worked tirelessly to cleanse, convert, and validate our data, design and integrate the technical support, establish business process guides, attend trainings, and continue to support the project.
Our UC Irvine community pulled together to implement this highly complex project. I am proud of what we have accomplished so far and know that the team will work hard in continually refining procedures as we cycle through our processes in the new system. This will be the last executive sponsor message; however, the UCI UCPath team will continue their communications to transactional users.

What Employees Want to Know

Following are common topics that the Employee Experience Center (EEC) receives questions about:

  • 2019 W-2 Wage and Tax Statements
Employees can download their 2019 Form W-2: Wage and Tax Statements from At Your Service Online (AYSO). While UCI recently converted to the UCPath system, tax forms for last year’s wages will be available only on the AYSO website. Next year’s W-2 will be available from UCPath Online.
  • New 2020 Federal Form W-4 Information
To update your withholdings, complete the new W-4 form in UCPath Online.
  • Direct Deposit
The process has been updated to make it easier to change Direct Deposit information. There is a transition period for Direct Deposit changes that can take several weeks to complete. If the transition process has not finalized for payroll, the employee will receive a paper paycheck that will be mailed to their home address on record. Click the following link for instructions: How to Manage Your Direct Deposit.
  • Update Personal Information
Employees can update their personal information such as address, email, name (legal or preferred) or other personal data in UCPath Online. Click the following link for instructions: Keep Your Personal Information Updated in UCPath. Remember to update your information with other service providers, too, including Fidelity, your local HR or payroll office and other service areas, as needed.
