Jennifer Gardy, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Toward Digital Pathogen Surveillance

Dr. Jennifer Gardy is Deputy Director of Surveillance, Data, and Epidemiology at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Malaria team. She is an expert on the use of genomics as a tool to understand pathogen transmission, and incorporated techniques drawn from genomics, bioinformatics, modeling, information visualization, and the social sciences.

SHIELD Orange County: Translating Modeling to Mainstream Practice

Dr. Susan Huang is a Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Health Policy Research Institute at UCI School of Medicine, and the Medical Director of Epidemiology and Infection Prevention at UCI Health. Dr. Huang is an internationally recognized expert on healthcare-associated infections with a focus on multidrug-resistant organisms.
