Administrative Relocation of Enrollment Management

Dear colleagues,

Chancellor Gillman has approved the administrative relocation of Enrollment Management from the Division of Student Affairs to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, effective Aug. 1, 2018.

This will bring the three Enrollment Management units – the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, and the Office of the University Registrar – into closer alignment with the academic functions of the campus. Moreover, as student enrollment continues to increase, multiyear planning and management of enrollments at both the campus and school levels is becoming an essential tool for reaching UCI’s strategic goals. Effective planning and management requires thoughtful analyses and ongoing collaboration with the provost, the deans, the Academic Senate, and the Office of the President.

Associate Vice Chancellor Patricia Morales will continue to lead Enrollment Management. The units will still be headed by Tony Hwang, interim executive director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions; Rebecca Sanchez, director of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships; and University Registrar Elizabeth Bennett.

Please join us in thanking Patty and her dedicated team for their efforts to advance our academic mission and support our students and faculty.

Sincerely,

Enrique J. Lavernia, Ph.D.
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
Distinguished Professor,
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
