Submit Your Big Idea

Dear colleagues,

Your voice matters – and we want to hear your ideas. The purpose of the UCI Big Ideas Challenge is to source visionary ideas from the campus community that will help us advance toward our brilliant future. As a reminder, the ideas selected will be included as specific fundraising priorities in the next comprehensive campaign and will be shared with donors and other potential funders.

How do you ensure your big idea is a great idea? In addition to aligning with the UCI strategic plan, your big idea should meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • Be transformational to UCI and/or the world
  • Be multidisciplinary or multi-organizational
  • Include areas where UCI is emerging as a leader
  • Link to fundamental grand challenges or opportunities
  • Make UCI competitive in the marketplace

Need help with your idea? Attend the Big Ideas Brainstorming Session on March 19, hosted by the UCI ANTrepreneur Center; its staff are trained to help facilitate idea generation and collaboration. To learn more and RSVP, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/uci-big-ideas-brainstorming-sessions-tickets-43564043226.

Whether they involve support for groundbreaking research, leading-edge equipment and technology, or an innovative new program or institute, the ideas from students, faculty and staff need to be BIG and bold.

The deadline to submit your idea is Monday, April 2. For more information, visit http://bigideas.give.uci.edu. If you have questions, please contact bigideas@uci.edu
